Xbox Labs experiments with classic Xbox 360 dashboard designs

Xbox Labs, a new experimental division at Microsoft led by Scott Van Vliet, is exploring the potential return of classic Xbox 360 user interfaces. The team, which consists of game developers, engineers, and scientists, aims to test experimental concepts and new technologies through open development.

Initial footage shows various historical dashboard designs being adapted for modern consoles and PCs, including the original Blades interface, the 2008 New Xbox Experience, and the 2011 Metro interface. While Microsoft has not officially confirmed a release date, the project utilizes methods from the modding and reverse engineering communities to gather feedback from players and developers.
