Gears of War: E-Day trailer reveals Emergence Day horror

The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios have released a new cinematic launch trailer titled ‘Adagio’ for the upcoming third-person shooter, Gears of War: E-Day. The trailer depicts the onset of the ‘Emergence Day’ catastrophe, featuring the Locust horde invading the planet Sera.

The trailer utilizes a musical arrangement of Samuel Barber’s ‘Adagio for Strings’ by composer Adam Lastiwka to underscore the dramatic and horrific nature of the invasion. The footage contrasts intense combat sequences with the emotional struggle of survivors.

Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled for release on October 6, 2026. It will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on its launch day. As a prequel, the game explores the events leading up to the original series and the formation of Delta Squad.
