Aspyr announces Shrek 2 Remastered for PC and consoles

Aspyr, in collaboration with Universal and DreamWorks Animation, has officially announced DreamWorks Shrek 2 Remastered. The definitive edition of the 2004 action-adventure game is scheduled for release on November 10, 2026.

The remaster will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Key enhancements include rebuilt textures, an updated user interface, 4K resolution, and improved cinematics. New features include a Photo Mode and a Cheats Menu.

Gameplay will support solo play and up to four-player cooperative modes, including local couch co-op, online multiplayer, and mixed local/online sessions. Players can swap between characters like Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey on the fly to utilize unique abilities.

The announcement trailer notably parodied the marketing style of Grand Theft Auto VI. The game is priced at $29.99, with a 10% pre-order discount currently available.
