XCMG Brasil launches hybrid mining loader at Exposibram 2026

XCMG Brasil has launched the XC988-HEV, a hybrid mining loader, at the Exposibram 2026 event in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The machine is designed to improve energy efficiency and productivity in demanding environments by combining an internal combustion engine with an electric propulsion system featuring two electric motors. This configuration aims to eliminate losses typically associated with conventional transmissions while providing high torque and rapid response.

The XC988-HEV features a 99.11 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with an intelligent management system and fast-charging capabilities. It has a nominal load capacity of 8.5 tons, 480 kW of power, and an operational weight of approximately 27.6 tons. The equipment is intended for use in mining, ports, and aggregate handling.

In addition to the new loader, XCMG is showcasing the XDE130 mining truck, which has a payload capacity of up to 120 tons. The Exposibram event is organized by the Brazilian Mining Association (IBRAM).
