XCMG expands Brazilian operations with electric truck contract and new tech center
XCMG has secured a R$ 500 million contract to supply 251 electric trucks to Brazil, marking a significant shift toward electrification in the country's mining and logistics sectors. These vehicles are intended for routes with manageable distances and charging points, allowing for precise monitoring of energy consumption and operational efficiency compared to diesel alternatives.
In addition to its electric vehicle expansion, XCMG is increasing its presence in the Brazilian infrastructure market. The company is establishing a technology development center at its industrial plant in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, to focus on machine automation and meet the rising quality demands of private road concessionaires. The company also recently inaugurated a new unit in Serra, Espírito Santo, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy in the region.
