XCMG unveils world's first 14,000-ton ring crane
XCMG has announced the production of the first main unit of the world’s first 14,000-ton ring crane. Developed in partnership with Sinopec Heavy Lifting & Transportation Co., Ltd., the crane is designed for ultra-heavy lifting in major construction sectors.
The crane utilizes a modular configuration consisting of two main units that work in tandem. Once fully integrated, the system will achieve a maximum lifting capacity of 14,000 tons and a maximum lifting moment of 700,000 ton-meters.
Technological features include an electric direct-drive system intended to reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions. This system is expected to provide energy savings of more than 30% and increase operating efficiency by 20%. The equipment is targeted at the growing demand for modular construction in nuclear power, wind power, and conventional energy projects.
