XDOF in talks for $1.2 billion valuation in Series B funding round
XDOF, a San Mateo-based startup specializing in data infrastructure for robotics and embodied AI, is reportedly in discussions to raise Series B funding at a valuation of approximately $1.2 billion. The potential round is said to be led by 8VC.
Founded in 2024 by Philipp Wu and Yide (Fred) Shentu, the company provides data pipelines, teleoperation tools, and annotation systems designed to help frontier AI labs and robotics firms collect high-quality training data for physical tasks. The company’s rapid growth, with annualized revenue reportedly approaching $50 million, has prompted investor interest so soon after its $70 million Series A round in June.
XDOF has previously partnered with UC Berkeley and MIT to release ABC-130K, a large open-source dataset for bimanual robot manipulations. The startup aims to serve as a specialized data supply chain for the robotics industry, addressing the lack of large-scale real-world datasets available for training physical robotic systems.
