Xelajú MC and Diriangén face off in Copa Centroamericana

Xelajú MC of Guatemala and Diriangén of Nicaragua are set to face each other this Tuesday at the Cementos Progreso Stadium in Guatemala City as part of the 2026 Copa Centroamericana.

The match carries different stakes for both clubs. Xelajú MC, managed by Roberto Hernández, currently sits at the bottom of Group A with zero points following losses to Alajuelense and Plaza Amador. While their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals are slim, the team aims to secure their first points of the tournament.

Diriangén, led by Alexander Vargas, enters the match with three points in fourth place. A victory would allow the Nicaraguan side to temporarily tie with Alajuelense and Plaza Amador, keeping their hopes of advancing alive. The match is scheduled to begin at 21:00 local time.
