X‑Files reboot set for Hulu with Ryan Coogler as showrunner

Ryan Coogler will serve as showrunner for a reboot of "The X‑Files" on Hulu. He has shot a pilot on 65 mm film and is weighing a theatrical release of that pilot. The new series will replace the original leads with Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler, and while no full series order has been confirmed, the pilot could arrive as early as late 2026.

In Poland, a director’s cut of the 2008 film "The X‑Files: I Want to Believe" will be released on Hulu (Disney+) on 14 August 2026 under the title "X Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn," featuring restored footage and Russian‑language dialogue.
