XGIMI unveils AURA 3 series 4K 120Hz ultra-short throw projectors

XGIMI has announced the AURA 3 series, featuring the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro, which are set to be showcased at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The series introduces a world-first 4K 120Hz capability for ultra-short throw projectors.

A key technical innovation is the dynamic dual iris system, which uses two mechanical apertures to adjust light precisely. This hardware-based approach aims to improve black levels and contrast, with the AURA 3 Max boasting a native contrast ratio of 8,000:1. The Max model provides up to 5,700 ISO lumens, while the Pro model offers 4,100 ISO lumens.

Designed for gaming and cinema, the projectors support VRR, ALLM, and various high-dynamic-range formats including Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The AURA 3 Max includes an 80W Harman Kardon speaker system and runs on Google TV. Sales are scheduled to begin on October 20 via Kickstarter in the United States.
