Xi Jinping completes state visit to the United States

Chinese President Xi Jinping has concluded a 43-hour state visit to the United States, marking his first such visit in 11 years. The meeting with President Donald Trump aimed to stabilize and improve bilateral relations, with both sides agreeing to build a “constructive strategic stable relationship based on respect, fairness, and equality.”

Key outcomes of the visit include agreements to support each other's hosting of major international summits, such as APEC and the G20. Economic cooperation efforts involve continuing the suspension of mutual tariff increases and implementing reciprocal tax reductions. Additionally, both nations agreed to strengthen cooperation in combating transnational crime and enhancing military communication to prevent crises.

Regarding the Taiwan issue, China reiterated its stance on maintaining national sovereignty and territorial integrity, urging the U.S. to oppose “Taiwan independence.” While the official joint statements did not explicitly detail discussions on Taiwan, Chinese Ambassador Xie Feng noted that the leaders exchanged views on major strategic issues. The visit also included cultural initiatives, such as China's plan to invite 100,000 American youths for exchange programs over the next five years.
