Xi Jinping responds to US university students' letter on bilateral ties
Chinese President Xi Jinping has responded to a letter from approximately 100 students representing ten American universities, including Harvard, following their participation in youth exchange programs in China.
The students participated in the ‘Future Makers 2026: China-US Youth Tour for a Shared Future in the Asia-Pacific’ and other exchange initiatives. In their correspondence, the students expressed their appreciation for Chinese civilization and their commitment to fostering peace and bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Xi Jinping expressed satisfaction with the students' experiences, describing their trip as memorable and constructive. He encouraged the youth to act as ambassadors of friendship to build bridges across the Pacific and promote mutual understanding. The President emphasized that the younger generations of both powers share a responsibility to ensure stable, long-term bilateral relations and contribute to a multipolar world through peaceful cooperation.
