Xi'an resident optimizes apartment space by repurposing balconies

A resident in Xi'an has successfully optimized a multi-balcony apartment by rethinking space division. The original design used sliding doors to separate the balconies from the living room and a child's room, which resulted in narrow, dark, and difficult-to-furnish spaces.

To resolve this, the owner removed part of the sliding door system and used a study desk as a functional partition. This modification transformed the balcony area into an extension of the child's room, increasing natural light and ventilation.

The living room balcony was also opened up to create a more spacious communal area. To maintain practical utility, the family implemented a foldable drying rack to manage laundry without cluttering the space. Additionally, a mobile TV stand allows the living area to be easily reconfigured for relaxation or viewing from the balcony.
