Xiaomi 18 Pro price set to jump about 20% as component costs surge

Rumors indicate that Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship, the 18 Pro, will debut with a retail price roughly 20 % higher than its predecessor. Chinese pricing is cited at around 6,000 yuan (≈ 720 EUR), which could translate to about 1,200 EUR in the Netherlands. The increase is attributed to sharply higher costs for DRAM and NAND memory chips, driven by booming AI‑server demand, as well as higher licensing fees for the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor that the device is expected to be among the first to feature.

The 18 Pro is also rumored to sport a large 8,000 mAh battery, dual 200 MP cameras and other premium upgrades that manufacturers claim justify the higher price tag. Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the specifications or final pricing.

Analysts note that similar cost pressures are affecting other Android flagship makers, suggesting broader price‑rise trends across the premium smartphone market.
