Xiaomi advances semiconductor capabilities with new 3nm chip

Xiaomi is advancing its position in the high-end semiconductor market with the development of the Xuanjie O3 chip. Utilizing a 3-nanometer Gate-All-Around (GAA) process, the Xuanjie O3 is reported to be the first 3nm chip developed within mainland China, positioning it as a competitor to Apple’s A19 Pro.

In addition to its proprietary chip developments, leaks regarding the upcoming Xiaomi 18 suggest the device may be among the first to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. This processor is expected to be manufactured using a 2-nanometer process at TSMC and will likely include an eight-core Oryon CPU. While the Xuanjie O3 represents a significant domestic milestone for China, the Xiaomi 18 aims to compete at the global performance peak through high-end hardware integration.
