Xiaomi announces HyperOS 4 rollout and device compatibility list
Xiaomi has officially announced the rollout schedule and device compatibility for its HyperOS 4 operating system, which is built on the Android 17 foundation. The update is being deployed across a wide ecosystem, including smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, wearables, and smart home devices.
In China, the rollout is already underway, with flagship models like the Xiaomi 17 series and Redmi K90 series receiving updates first. The deployment is organized into phases, with subsequent waves expected to reach various Xiaomi and Redmi models through late 2026 and early 2027. For global markets and the European Economic Area (EEA), a stable beta program is currently active via the Mi Pilot program, with stable releases typically following the Chinese schedule by several weeks.
Key features of HyperOS 4 include the ‘Soft Light Glass’ user interface, which utilizes translucent layering and frosted glass effects. The update also introduces enhanced AI capabilities through Super XiaoAI 2.0, offering on-device features such as real-time voice transcription and intelligent meeting summaries. To improve performance and battery life, Xiaomi has rewritten core system components using the Rust programming language, aiming for reduced RAM consumption and better efficiency.
