Xiaomi announces Smart 4G Camera 3 with integrated mobile data

Xiaomi has introduced the Smart 4G Camera 3, a security camera designed to operate without a Wi-Fi connection by using an integrated SIM card. Initially launched in China, the device utilizes networks from China Telecom and China Unicom to provide remote monitoring in locations where router signals are unavailable, such as garages or shops.

The camera includes a 5 MP sensor capable of 2880 × 1620 pixel resolution with an f/1.6 aperture, allowing for color imaging in low-light conditions. For complete darkness, it features 940 nm infrared LEDs for night vision. The device is motorized, offering 360-degree horizontal rotation and 109-degree vertical tilt to minimize blind spots.

Xiaomi provides free mobile data for the device, though this connectivity is strictly limited to use within the Xiaomi Home application. The data cannot be shared with other devices or used as a general internet hotspot. The camera also features AI-driven detection for monitoring children and pets, along with two-way audio capabilities.
