Xiaomi begins HyperOS 4 rollout with Android 17

Xiaomi has commenced the rollout of HyperOS 4, bringing Android 17 to Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices. The deployment began in mid-October 2026, starting with China before expanding to global and European ROM variants.

The update introduces the ‘Soft Light Glass’ design language, which utilizes transparencies, gradients, and lighting effects to create a sense of depth in menus and interface elements. Key functional improvements include enhanced memory management, more customizable lock screens, and variable-sized folders.

Artificial intelligence features are a central component of the update through Xiaomi HyperAI and Super XiaoAI 2.0. These tools include capabilities for transcribing voice recordings and organizing notes. Additionally, the update expands multi-device integration via Xiaomi HyperConnect.

Availability is staggered by region, language, and hardware specifications. While flagship models such as the Xiaomi 17 series and previous generations like the Xiaomi 15 and 14 are scheduled for the upgrade, certain features may vary depending on the specific device model.
