Xiaomi Corp. launches Robot Vacuum S10 with laser navigation

Xiaomi Corp. has introduced the Robot Vacuum S10, a compact device designed for both vacuuming and mopping. The unit features a maximum suction power of 4000 Pa and a lithium-ion battery providing up to 130 minutes of runtime. It utilizes LDS laser navigation to map rooms and avoid obstacles such as furniture and stairs.

The S10 includes a 450 ml dust container and a 200 ml water tank for controlled moist mopping. Users can manage settings and cleaning routes via a dedicated app.

Experts note that modern robot vacuums have evolved from random-path movement to systematic cleaning using laser or camera-based navigation. High-end models often allow for granular control over water usage and even include features like hot air drying for mop pads. These devices typically use side brushes to move debris toward a main roller brush, which then directs dirt into a dust container.
