Xiaomi expands HyperOS 4 Chinese firmware language support
Xiaomi has expanded the language support for its Chinese HyperOS 4 firmware, integrating several European and international languages. This update allows users who purchase Chinese-market smartphones to use the official operating system in languages other than Mandarin without needing to rely on unofficial community-developed ROMs.
Supported languages now include US English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), and Arabic (including Western numerals). The update also includes Tibetan, Uyghur, Korean, Japanese, and Thai.
While this move provides greater stability for international users of Chinese hardware, some major European languages such as Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Russian, Hindi, Indonesian, and Vietnamese are reportedly still missing from the official list. Additionally, specific regional languages like Czech and Slovak are not currently supported.
