Xiaomi raises prices of several phones in India
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced that, starting 27 July 2026, the retail prices of five of its devices – four Redmi models and the premium Xiaomi 17T – will increase in India. Price hikes range from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000, with the Xiaomi 17T facing the steepest rise of about ₹5,000 (≈$58). The company has not issued an official statement on the rationale, but analysts link the adjustment to the ongoing global memory‑chip crisis, which has driven up DRAM and NAND costs for manufacturers.
Consumers who were planning to purchase any of the affected models are urged to buy before the new pricing takes effect, as the increase will be reflected across online retailers throughout the Indian market.
