Xiaomi HyperOS 4 leaks reveal AI upgrades and Glass UI

Leaks regarding Xiaomi’s upcoming operating system, HyperOS 4, suggest a major overhaul focused on visual design and artificial intelligence. A central feature is the “Liquid Glass” or “Glass Material UI,” which utilizes real-time rendering of transparencies and light refraction to create a fluid, layered interface. This design is expected to be integrated into core system areas, including the lock screen, widgets, and notification panels.

Due to the high computational requirements of these visual effects, the full experience may be limited to flagship devices equipped with high-end processors, such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite or Dimensity 9500. Other devices may receive a simplified version of the interface.

Beyond aesthetics, HyperOS 4 is expected to introduce deeper AI integration for system automation and enhanced customization options, such as widget stacking and dynamic folder sizing. Additionally, the HyperConnect Device Center is rumored to be redesigned with a translucent card-based layout to better unify Xiaomi’s ecosystem of tablets, wearables, smart home appliances, and vehicles.
