Xiaomi introduces Dragonscale battery with SUV replacement guarantee

Xiaomi has introduced its new Dragonscale battery technology for electric vehicles, developed in partnership with CALB and Sunwoda. The company is offering a unique safety guarantee for its Skynomad N90 and N70 models featuring 76 kWh batteries.

If a battery spontaneously catches fire due to a manufacturing defect, Xiaomi promises to provide the owner with a brand-new SUV of the same model and specification, without deductions for age or mileage. In cases where a fire is caused by a collision, the company will compensate the difference between the insurance payout and the vehicle's market value prior to the accident.

The guarantee includes several specific conditions: the recipient must be the original private owner (excluding taxis, rental cars, and second-hand owners), maintenance must be performed exclusively at authorized Xiaomi workshops, and the owner must maintain an active subscription to Xiaomi Connected Services. This subscription allows the company's Cloud BMS to use AI to monitor cell health via the cloud. The Dragonscale battery is designed to exceed Chinese national standards for safety and cycle life, utilizing high-voltage insulators and redundant insulation materials.
