Xiaomi launches first employee-only housing project in Wuhan

Xiaomi has officially launched its first residential project, ‘Guanggu Mengxiangjia’, in the Optics Valley district of Wuhan, China. The development is exclusively available to official Xiaomi employees and consists of 297 units spread across four buildings, including three 18-story structures and one 33-story tower.

The project is designed according to ‘fourth-generation residential standards’, featuring amenities such as sky gardens, wind-and-rain corridors, gyms, yoga rooms, and community commercial spaces. The units range from 110-square-meter three-bedroom apartments to 143-square-meter units that include a 16-square-meter sky garden. The development also integrates the Xiaomi smart ecosystem, utilizing facial recognition for building access and automated elevator routing.

According to official filings, the average registered price is 13,885 yuan per square meter. However, internal reports suggest the actual price for employees may be as low as approximately 12,000 yuan per square meter, which is significantly lower than surrounding market rates in the area. The project is located near the Xiaomi Wuhan Science and Technology Park, providing convenient commuting for the company’s approximately 8,000 employees in the region.
