Xiaomi launches Mijia Smart Variable Pressure Rice Cooker

Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Smart Variable Pressure Rice Cooker 3L, a new addition to its smart home appliance lineup. Available for pre-order in China via JD.com for 1,499 yuan (approximately $224), the device is scheduled for sale starting October 30.

A key feature of the appliance is its 3mm thick composite titanium inner pot. Utilizing plasma coating technology, the pot is fluorine-free and avoids traditional Teflon coatings, meeting level 2 non-stick standards. The unit also includes a 304 stainless steel inner lid and a removable steaming tray for easier cleaning.

The cooker utilizes an 1175W induction heating system with a 13,000mm surrounding coil to ensure uniform heat distribution. It features a three-stage variable pressure system with four modes ranging from 1.0x to 2.0x pressure. This allows for specialized cooking, such as a 14-minute rapid mode for small portions or high pressure for tough grains and legumes that do not require pre-soaking.

Designed with accessibility in mind, the device features a dark grey aesthetic with a tempered glass top panel and a color touchscreen with large characters to assist elderly users. The appliance can keep rice warm for up to 8 hours.
