Xiaomi leads mainstream NEV segment in 2026 J.D. Power index

Xiaomi has emerged as a leader in the mainstream new energy vehicle (NEV) segment according to the 2026 J.D. Power China Automotive Brand Loyalty Index. In the mainstream NEV category, Xiaomi secured first place with a score of 51.5, followed by Deepal and Zeekr.

The report highlights a narrowing reputation gap between NEVs and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. While ICE vehicles maintain higher overall scores, the NEV segment saw an increase in its Net Promoter Score (NPS) to 42.7, while ICE scores declined.

In related developments, Xiaomi Auto CTO Hu Zhengnan addressed reports of the company’s road test fleet performing emergency rescues in Xinjiang and during previous winter testing. He noted that such assistance is a standard practice for their experienced testing teams, who are equipped with emergency supplies.

Regarding market availability, recent reports from Shenzhen indicate that demand for the Xiaomi Pengcheng series remains high. The N90 Max model currently faces a delivery wait time exceeding three months, while the N70 series has a shorter delivery cycle of approximately 1.5 to 2 months.
