Xiaomi releases HyperOS 3.1 with new multitasking, live notifications and AirPods support

Xiaomi has rolled out HyperOS 3.1 to its smartphones. The update redesigns the recent‑apps view with a horizontal, card‑style layout that expands thumbnails and adds smoother animations, making multitasking faster and more visual.

The new “Hyper Island” feature places live information—such as timers, countdowns, food‑delivery status or ride‑hailing updates—at the top of the screen, letting users see key data without opening the corresponding app.

HyperOS 3.1 also brings full native compatibility with Apple AirPods, displaying battery levels, enabling device location and supporting other AirPod functions directly from a Xiaomi phone.
