Xiaomi releases major security update addressing 180 vulnerabilities

Xiaomi has begun distributing a major security update for September 2026 across its portfolio of smartphones and tablets. The patch is significant as it addresses approximately 180 vulnerabilities affecting the operating system, kernel, and various hardware components.

The fixes target components from manufacturers including Qualcomm, MediaTek, Arm, and Unisoc. Specific areas addressed include Android Runtime, Framework, System, Setup Wizard, and several Project Mainline modules.

The rollout is closely linked to the deployment of HyperOS 4. While many updates are currently appearing on devices in China, such as the MIX Flip 2 and Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, global and EEA versions are also being released for models like the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The update is being distributed through both official stable channels and open-beta programs.
