Xiaomi releases OTA 1.17 for SU7, adds new parking assistance
On August 8, Xiaomi Automotive began rolling out the OTA 1.17 software update for its SU7 electric sedan series. The installation takes about 20‑30 minutes and is delivered via the vehicle’s infotainment system or the Xiaomi Car app.
The update introduces three new parking‑assist functions: a “frame parking” mode that lets drivers define a parking area on the screen for use on open ground without marked lines, a “head‑in” assist that switches the vehicle’s orientation for vertical or angled spots, and a “tail‑out” assist that enables the car to reverse out by the rear when the front is inside the space. Safety and driving aids are also refined, including smoother acceleration control, improved city‑navigation lane selection, enhanced high‑speed curve handling, and a front‑reverse‑collision warning that flashes lights when a vehicle ahead is backing up. The 4D millimeter‑wave radar has been tuned for low‑visibility conditions.
In the smart cockpit, the Super XiaoAI voice assistant now runs with its large‑model mode permanently enabled. New entertainment apps such as “Soda Music” (by Douyin) are added, and remote climate control can be activated from the app. The update also adds support for 20 kW home DC chargers with reservation and auto‑resume features, and expands maintenance reminders and child‑seat safety prompts.
