Xiaomi reports mixed Q2 2026 results amid regional growth and global competition

Xiaomi has reported mixed financial results for the second quarter of 2026, showing strong performance in specific regional markets despite broader global challenges. In Vietnam, the company secured the second-largest smartphone market share with 21% distribution, marking a 34% year-on-year growth. This growth was supported by the popularity of the 17T Series and the Redmi Note Series.

On a global scale, the company's financial outlook presents a more complex picture. While some reports indicate revenue of $16.2 billion with a 9.9% increase, other data highlights significant pressures. Net profit for the first half of 2026 reportedly fell by 37.6% year-on-year due to rising component costs and intense competition.

In the second quarter, adjusted net profit reached $922 million, though some metrics show a decline in smartphone shipments by 26.5% to 31.2 million units. To combat declining volumes and rising costs, Xiaomi is pursuing a 'premiumization' strategy, increasing its average selling price to 1,351 yuan. This shift aims to compete more directly with established brands like Apple and Samsung in the high-end segment.
