Xiaomi rolls out major HyperOS 4 UI redesign with transparent look and 3D icons

Xiaomi is set to launch HyperOS 4, a substantial visual overhaul of its Android skin. Leaked images show a translucent interface, new 3D‑styled icons and refreshed wallpapers. The company is testing two distinct design modes, hinting at possible user‑choice options before the final release.

Ahead of HyperOS 4, Xiaomi is also distributing beta builds of HyperOS 3.3, which integrate Android 17 APIs into flagship models such as the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 15T Pro across Chinese, European, Indian, global and Russian variants. The beta is described as an incremental update that adds Android 17 features while retaining most HyperOS 3.1 functionality, so users should see few visible changes. HyperOS 4 itself is expected in July‑August in China and promises larger AI enhancements, a faster, more responsive system and the new Liquid Glass visual style.
