Xiaomi sets August beta rollout for HyperOS 4 with Liquid Glass UI

A leak on the Chinese platform CoolAPK suggests Xiaomi will begin a promotional "preheating" campaign on 5 August, open beta registrations the same day and hold an official HyperOS 4 launch event on 6 August. The first batch of beta updates is expected to roll out on 7 August, initially limited to selected devices in the Chinese market.

The rumored update includes a "Liquid Glass" visual redesign with real‑time light‑field rendering, 2.5D icons, stacked lock‑screen notifications, and an AI‑driven "floating island" that adapts interface colors. A Rust‑based foundation is said to improve performance, and a partnership with Leica will add themed icons, special lighting effects and unique system sounds. Xiaomi has not confirmed any of these details.
