Xiaomi SkyNomad SUV lineup targets luxury market with high-tech features

Xiaomi Auto has revealed details for its new SkyNomad SUV lineup, positioning the vehicles as high-tech, luxury alternatives to established Western brands at significantly lower price points. The lineup includes the N70, a five-seat extended-range electric vehicle starting at approximately $31,000 (209,900 RMB), and the larger N90, which offers seven-seat configurations and a high-end Max Explorer edition priced around $44,700 (299,900 RMB).

The SkyNomad models emphasize flexible interior spaces, featuring movable components like seats and consoles, and a sleeping area in the N90 Max that can be formed by flattening the second-row seats. Technological features include L2+ level assisted driving supported by NVIDIA Thor-U chips, LiDAR, and high-definition cameras, alongside amenities such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication, voice control, and integrated projectors.

Industry observers note that the SkyNomad series poses a competitive threat to luxury marques like Bentley and Range Rover by offering premium configurations—including advanced audio systems and large batteries—at a fraction of the cost of traditional luxury SUVs.
