Xiaomi tests SU7 Ultra prototypes at Nürburgring to challenge Porsche
Xiaomi is testing new prototypes of the SU7 Ultra at the Nürburgring in an attempt to reclaim the electric luxury sedan lap record from the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Manthey.
Recent sightings of the test vehicles reveal significant aerodynamic enhancements designed to improve track performance. These upgrades include a redesigned front bumper with a large splitter, aero skirts, and louvers above the front wheels. The rear of the vehicle features a prominent twin-plane wing with swan-neck mounts, which may include an active Drag Reduction System (DRS) similar to those found on high-end performance cars. Additionally, the car is being tested with an all-new diffuser and large carbon ceramic brakes.
The current SU7 Ultra utilizes three electric motors producing a combined 1,548 horsepower, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 1.98 seconds. While Xiaomi has previously demonstrated a quad-motor system capable of 2,054 horsepower, it remains unconfirmed if this power level will be integrated into the upcoming track-focused version.
