Xiaomi and Leapmotor expand global electric vehicle presence
Chinese technology giants Xiaomi and Leapmotor are aggressively expanding their electric vehicle footprints in international markets.
Xiaomi has introduced its SkyNomad N90 and N70 SUV series, featuring extended-range electric technology. The N90 Max Studio Edition is designed for camping, utilizing an electric pop-up roof that creates a second level with a maximum interior height of 2.29 meters. The series has seen significant early demand in China, with reports indicating over 10,000 orders placed within four minutes of launch. Xiaomi also announced plans to enter the German premium EV market by 2027, establishing partnerships with eight major German dealer groups.
Leapmotor, which maintains a joint venture with Stellantis, is launching its B03X compact electric SUV in various global markets, including Europe and Australia. The B03X is positioned as an affordable B-segment crossover, with prices starting around €24,900 in Europe. The model emphasizes practical packaging, offering up to 510 liters of cargo space through clever storage solutions like an underfloor waterproof compartment. Leapmotor is also expanding its dealer networks and warranty offerings to build consumer confidence in new markets.
