Xinming Junior High School takes runner-up at LLB World Series
The Taiwan representative team, composed of players from Xinming Junior High School, secured the runner-up position at the 2026 Little League Baseball (LLB) World Series in Taylor, Michigan. In the championship final, the team faced the California representative from the US bracket. After a highly competitive match that remained tied through several innings, the game extended to the 10th inning. California ultimately won with a score of 6-3, following a decisive three-run home run by Jayden Valdez in the top of the 10th.
Prior to the final, Xinming Junior High School advanced to the championship match by defeating Aruba 6-0 in the International Division final, maintaining a perfect record through that stage. While the loss prevented the team from achieving a fifth consecutive world title, their performance earned them the International Division championship title and a silver medal in the overall tournament.
Local Taiwanese communities in Michigan provided significant support during the tournament, with many spectators attending to cheer for the team. Following the tournament, Taiwanese officials issued congratulatory messages to the players for their international performance.
