Xinquang Children's Park to undergo safety and accessibility upgrades
The Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau has initiated an improvement project for Xinquang Children's Park in the Fengshan District. The project is currently in the planning and design phase, following a public participation briefing to gather local resident feedback.
Director of the Public Works Bureau, Yang Qin-fu, noted that the 0.23-hectare park is a vital space for local recreation and family activities. However, existing facilities and spatial configurations no longer meet current needs, and height differences between certain paths and surrounding roads pose safety concerns.
The planned improvements aim to enhance safety, comfort, and accessibility. Key focus areas include optimizing circulation systems, improving path surfaces, reconfiguring rest facilities, upgrading nighttime lighting, and strengthening green spaces to create a more inclusive environment for all age groups.
