Xiong’an-1 satellite successfully enters orbit via reusable rocket
On August 19, 2026, the Xiong’an-1 satellite, also known as Honghu-03, was successfully launched into its designated orbit. The satellite was carried by a Zhuque-3 Y2 rocket from the Dongfeng commercial space innovation pilot zone in northwest China.
The mission marked a significant technical milestone as the rocket's first stage successfully touched down at a landing site in Gansu Province, demonstrating a breakthrough in China’s reusable rocket technology.
The satellite was manufactured by Hongqing in the Xiong’an New Area of Hebei Province. The production facility was constructed and became operational within a year, highlighting the rapid industrial development of the region's satellite industry hub.
