XIX International Arbitration Competition held in Chile
The XIX International Arbitration Competition 2026 concluded at the University of Chile's Faculty of Law. Organized by the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Rosario of Colombia, the event brought together 57 universities and more than 600 students from 10 different countries.
The competition involved 378 judges and arbitrators, 170 coaches, and 60 secretaries and monitors. Prior to the main event, the Santiago Arbitration and Mediation Center (CAM Santiago) organized the XIV Pre-Moot in early August, which served as a preparatory activity for several Chilean universities.
Among the Chilean participants, the University of Concepción achieved the best results, winning first place in the general rounds of the Pre-Moot and advancing to the quarterfinals of the main competition. The University of Chile received the award for the best statement of claim, while the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile received mentions for both memorials. The final arbitration tribunal included high-level legal figures such as Gloria Ana Chevesich, President of the Supreme Court of Chile.
