XLSMART restores telecommunications networks in Nusa Tenggara Timur

PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk is accelerating the restoration of telecommunications networks following an earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). As of August 18, 2026, technical teams have reduced the number of disrupted Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) from 91 to approximately 5.

To overcome challenges such as power supply issues and landslides blocking access, the company has deployed 7 permanent generators and 16 portable generators, alongside technical equipment to repair fiber optic lines.

As part of its disaster response, XLSMART is providing free communication benefits to users of XL, SMARTFREN, and AXIS in the affected NTT regions. This includes data quotas, calling minutes, and SMS services to assist residents in maintaining connectivity during the post-disaster period.
