Xona Space Systems raises $250 million to scale Pulsar satellite network
Xona Space Systems has secured $250 million in a Series D funding round, bringing its total funding to over $570 million since its founding in 2019. The investment, led by Future Ventures co-founder Steve Jurvetson, establishes a post-money valuation of $2.45 billion for the California-based satellite navigation developer.
The capital is intended to scale the production of Xona’s Pulsar constellation, a low Earth orbit (LEO) positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) network. The Pulsar system is designed as a resilient commercial complement to traditional GPS, offering signals up to 100 times more powerful than legacy broadcasts. This increased strength aims to improve signal penetration in dense urban environments and indoors, while providing centimeter-level accuracy and resistance to electronic warfare, spoofing, and jamming.
Following FCC authorization in August, Xona recently launched its first block of six production-class satellites. The company plans to begin serving early commercial users with timing services in 2027 and intends to test integrations with military assets, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force, next year.
