Xooloo Messenger user under investigation for child exploitation

A man residing in the Lyon region has been placed under investigation for the corruption of a minor following an infiltration of the Xooloo Messenger app. The platform, designed specifically for children aged 8 to 12, was breached in February by an individual using the pseudonym ‘Coraline Line’.

The suspect allegedly used the application’s ‘classes’ and common relations system to bypass security measures and establish contact with a 10-year-old girl. During these interactions, the suspect reportedly sent sexual images and attempted to solicit inappropriate behavior and photos from the child.

Following the discovery of these exchanges, the child’s parents filed a complaint with the gendarmerie. The co-founder of Xooloo confirmed that the suspect's account has been suspended and that all relevant communications have been handed over to investigators. The company has also stated that security reinforcement measures are being implemented to prevent similar incidents.
