Xota football club faces registration uncertainty amid legal probe

The future of the football club Xota remains uncertain as the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has yet to issue a resolution regarding the club's registration for the upcoming season. Despite submitting documentation before July 15, the club has not been assigned a category, even as the federation releases schedules for other divisions.

The uncertainty is compounded by legal issues involving businessman Ramón Lázaro. Following his detention on multiple charges, investigations have highlighted a payment of 160,000 euros intended to facilitate a change in Xota's board of directors. While Javier Baigorri currently serves as president, the federation is seeking to clarify the destination of funds previously received by the club under the leadership of Tatono Arregui.
