Xpeng creates nine robot divisions, CEO He Xiaopeng leads product unit

Xpeng's robot center has been reorganized into nine secondary departments: product, embodied‑system engineering, control and safety development, embodied intelligence, data‑closed loop, generic base (virtual), product matrix (virtual), brand marketing, and project management. Founder‑CEO He Xiaopeng will also serve as head of the product department, receiving direct reports from each department head. He said he devotes a full day each week to “intensive thinking and discussion about the robot business and the robot team.”

The restructuring comes as Xpeng prepares to move its IRON humanoid robot into mass production. The company aims to showcase the robot in the third quarter of 2024, begin trial commercial use in Xpeng stores by year‑end, and start deliveries to Chinese and overseas customers from 2025, positioning robot hardware and AI model revenue as a future growth driver.
