XPENG leads electric vehicle satisfaction in Central Europe
A study conducted by the Stuttgart-based consultancy USCALE reveals that XPENG has achieved the highest customer satisfaction levels among electric vehicle drivers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Based on a survey of over 4,000 drivers of vehicles up to three years old, the Chinese manufacturer recorded an 82% recommendation rate, significantly exceeding the industry average of 53%. Notably, XPENG was the only brand among 24 listed to report zero detractors.
The research highlights a shift in consumer priorities. While range and charging speed remain important, drivers are increasingly focused on software, connectivity, and seamless charging experiences. The study found that 44% of respondents desire better software, and 71% reported issues during the charging process.
While overall recommendation scores for EV drivers rose from 33 to 38 points compared to the previous year, expectations for technical performance are rising. For instance, although more drivers now operate vehicles with a real summer range exceeding 400 km, the satisfaction level regarding that specific range has decreased as consumer standards evolve.
