XPeng stock nears 52-week low amid delivery fluctuations

XPeng's stock is facing significant pressure, trading near its 52-week low. Despite showing technical ambition in chip and software development, the company's core business in China has faced challenges. Deliveries for the first nine months of 2026 reportedly fell by 9% to 284,300 units, representing only 47.4% of the company's lower-end annual target.

However, recent monthly data shows some recovery, with 41,256 vehicles delivered in September. Third-quarter deliveries rose to 118,390 units, a 15% increase compared to the previous quarter. Despite these operational gains, the stock remains impacted by broader macroeconomic factors, including rising US Treasury yields, increasing oil prices, and investor concerns regarding China's economic stimulus measures.

To diversify revenue, XPeng is pursuing a strategy of software licensing. Beyond its existing partnership with Volkswagen, the company plans to offer its technology to other foreign automakers.
