XPeng, Tesla, and Li Auto announce major software and AI updates
XPeng has launched the rollout of its XOS 6.3.0 update, featuring the second-generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model. The update transitions from 3D spatial recognition to 4D spatio-temporal understanding, utilizing a new predictive world model and long-sequence architecture to enhance trajectory prediction and decision-making. The rollout includes VLA 2.0 for Ultra models and VLA 2.0 Lite for Max models. Key features include improved NGP urban driving, enhanced parking capabilities such as near-point parking and head-in/tail-out options, and a new remote safety feature called ‘Pengyou Watch’ that notifies nearby XPeng owners if a driver becomes incapacitated.
Tesla China announced an OTA audio system upgrade for select Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. The update introduces ‘Immersive Sound X’, which uses sound extraction technology to convert standard stereo audio into a 360-degree surround sound effect. This feature is available for specific production models from late 2023 and 2025 onwards.
Li Auto is scheduled to release a September OTA update for its Livis AI glasses. The update will expand simultaneous translation capabilities to include 17 foreign languages and two Chinese dialects, introduce adaptive volume adjustment based on environmental noise, and add a video timestamp marking feature for easier content review.
