XPeng to enter Philippine market with AI-focused electric vehicles

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng is set to enter the Philippine market this September, introducing two key models: the X9, a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle, and the L03, a sportier coupe-style SUV.

The company is positioning its expansion around an ‘AI Mobility’ strategy, emphasizing integrated artificial intelligence and advanced software to differentiate itself from increasing competition in the region. XPeng aims to use proprietary sensors and software to enhance driver assistance and create an adaptive user experience.

Sam Chu, XPeng’s General Manager for Southeast Asia, stated that the company intends for Filipino drivers to view artificial intelligence as a core component of mobility rather than just an additional feature. The brand focuses on developing its own driver assistance technology and in-car operating systems to define the next generation of intelligent transportation.
