Xpeng X9 demonstrates ultra-fast electric vehicle charging
The Xpeng X9 electric van has demonstrated exceptional high-speed charging capabilities in recent tests conducted in the Czech Republic and Poland. The AWD Performance version features a 110 kWh battery and is rated for a maximum DC charging power of up to 542 kW, with the manufacturer claiming a 10% to 80% charge can be completed in just 12 minutes.
In a test conducted at a 400 kW PRE station in Prague, the vehicle reached an 80% charge in approximately 14 minutes and 15 seconds, despite extreme heat and high demand on the infrastructure. In Poland, testing at an Ionity station showed the vehicle utilizing the full power of a 350 kW charger and maintaining a high intake of 190 kW even at an 80% state of charge.
Beyond charging, the X9 showed efficient energy consumption, with real-world tests indicating a range of approximately 523 kilometers at highway speeds.
