XRG expands gas infrastructure and European supply ties
XRG has expanded its energy footprint through two major strategic moves involving gas supply and infrastructure. First, XRG, ADNOC, and SEFE signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation across the natural gas and LNG value chain. This partnership aims to bolster energy security and supply chain resilience for Germany and the broader European market by combining ADNOC’s UAE-based supply and XRG’s international sources with SEFE’s market presence and infrastructure access.
In a separate development, XRG completed the acquisition of an equity stake in Southern Gas Corridor CJSC from the Republic of Azerbaijan. This acquisition is part of XRG’s strategy to integrate Caspian resources with European markets. The Southern Gas Corridor is a 3,500-km network that transports natural gas from the Caspian Sea through Georgia and Türkiye to Southern Europe, with a capacity of up to 26 billion cubic meters per year.
